BUDMASTERGROW

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: April 2026

1. About These Terms

These terms apply to all purchases from BudMaster Grow™, a UK business based in Poole, Dorset. By placing an order you agree to these terms in full. If you do not accept these terms, do not place an order.

2. Product Description

BudMaster products are sold as electronic controller kits requiring assembly. Each kit includes a printed circuit board with pre-soldered surface-mount components, and may include separate sensors, cables, and accessories. The kit is not a finished, ready-to-use product.

The buyer is responsible for:

3. Electrical Safety

BudMaster controllers operate at 12V DC safe-touch voltage. No mains voltage is present on the controller board. However:

4. Assembly Disclaimer

By purchasing a BudMaster kit, you acknowledge that:

5. CO2 Equipment

The BudMaster Nexus hub includes CO2 valve control with dual safety features (software timeout + an independent hardware safety cutoff). Despite these safeguards:

6. Pre-orders

BudMaster products are offered on a limited pre-order basis, currently capped at 100 units across the product range for the opening batch. Once the cap is reached, the buy button is replaced with a waitlist signup; further pre-orders will reopen when the next batch is scheduled.

When you place a pre-order:

Honest note: BudMaster is a small independent operation. Delays happen — PCB fabs, component suppliers and couriers are all outside our direct control. We communicate openly and refund without argument if timelines slip materially.

7. Warranty

All BudMaster products carry a 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery, covering manufacturing defects in the PCB and pre-soldered components. This is in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

The warranty does not cover:

To make a warranty claim, email us at the contact address below with your order number, a description of the fault, and photos if applicable. We will advise the return procedure (see Section 8).

8. Returns & Replacements

Two separate return policies apply depending on what is being returned. Both follow the same postage mechanic: you post the item back to us at your own cost and enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope (SAE) for the replacement. We test the returned item and, if we judge it faulty under the terms below, we post a replacement to you in your SAE. If the returned item is not faulty, we will return it to you in your SAE unchanged.

Category Window Grounds
Sensors (SCD41, TSL2591, AHT20/BMP280, soil probes, etc.) 30 days from delivery Faulty only — no change-of-mind returns, because these are fragile and any re-shipped sensor is a risk to the next buyer
Hub, channel routers, cases, cables, accessories 14 days from delivery (change-of-mind, UK statutory minimum)
12 months from delivery (faulty)
Change-of-mind returns must be unused, unassembled, and in original packaging. Faulty returns accepted for 12 months under warranty.

Definition of “faulty”

A product is faulty if it fails to function as specified when connected correctly, within its specified operating conditions, and with no external damage. Examples: a sensor reading zero or garbage values out of the box; a hub or channel router that fails to boot on first power-up with a correct 12V supply; a cable with an open or short circuit.

Definition of “damaged” (not covered)

A product is damaged and not covered if failure results from buyer action or external cause. Examples: crushed sensor housing, water ingress, scorched PCB tracks from reversed polarity, bent connector pins, over-voltage, soldering modifications, dropped or impact damage, rodent damage.

Please include with every return:

Without an SAE we cannot return the item to you without charging outbound postage. This is the policy that keeps the returns process viable for a small independent operation.

Refunds vs replacements

Faulty items are repaired or replaced at our discretion. If we are unable to repair or replace within 30 days of receiving the return, we refund the purchase price to the original payment method. Change-of-mind returns (hub and channel routers only, within 14 days, unused) are refunded to the original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the item.

9. Firmware & Software

BudMaster firmware is proprietary software provided under licence with the hardware. The buyer may:

The buyer may not reverse-engineer, redistribute, or commercially exploit the firmware source code.

10. Data & Privacy

BudMaster controllers operate entirely on your local network. No sensor data, configuration, or personal information is transmitted to BudMaster Grow or any third party. We do not collect telemetry or usage data.

If you use the optional BudMaster Grow Mobile App, commands and sensor data are exchanged directly between your phone and your controller over your own local network. Nothing is routed through BudMaster Grow's servers or any third-party messaging platform. BudMaster Grow does not store or access your messages.

Your email address and delivery details are retained for order fulfilment and warranty purposes only. Payment is processed by Stripe; card details are never seen or stored by BudMaster Grow.

11. International Orders

BudMaster ships internationally. For orders outside the United Kingdom:

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BudMaster Grow's total liability for any claim arising from the purchase or use of a BudMaster product is limited to the purchase price of the product.

BudMaster Grow is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages including but not limited to crop loss, equipment damage, or loss of earnings.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Intellectual Property

BudMaster, BudMaster Grow, and the BudMaster logo are trademarks of BudMaster Grow (UK trademark application UK00004369347). The firmware, PCB designs, and 3D-printed case designs are the intellectual property of BudMaster Grow.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
