How this is kept honest: "Shipped" means it's in current firmware running on customer hardware. "Next release" means actively in the build for the upcoming OTA. "Thinking about it" means on the whiteboard — no commitments, no dates.

VPD-driven climate automation
Leaf-offset VPD targeting with configurable per-stage range. Extract fan ramps smoothly up and down to hold the target.
DLI auto-dim for your lights
Closed-loop daily-light-integral control using a canopy light sensor. Trims your dimmable LED to hit the target mol/m²/day regardless of canopy height.
Dual-safety CO₂ dosing
Software 30-second max dose plus an independent hardware backup circuit. Day-only dosing. Configurable post-dose lockout.
Industrial soil sensing (7-in-1)
Industrial soil sensor reading temperature, moisture, EC, pH, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Per-stage targets and alerts.
Bud-rot (Botrytis) risk detection
Night-time humidity + VPD correlation. Auto-forces extract to ≥80% AND pushes an app alert when conditions favour grey mould.
Week-by-week grow plans
Up to 4 saved plans × 16 weeks each. Auto-advance every 7 days. Target VPD, temp, humidity, CO₂, DLI per week.
BudMaster Mobile App with 22 commands
Full remote control — /status, /plan, /fans, /light, /co2, and 17 others. Free, encrypted, no App Store install.
Open REST API + Home Assistant MQTT
Every reading readable, every target settable over your local network. Optional local MQTT for Home Assistant. No cloud.
Local-network OTA firmware updates
Signed binary delivery, user-initiated. No cloud, no forced updates.
Environment score (0-100)
Real-time composite metric across VPD, temp, RH, CO₂, DLI, pH. At-a-glance grow-health dial.

Add rooms as you grow
Dynamically add rooms from the dashboard — up to 16 — each with its own targets, plan and alerts. Scale the Nexus across the whole grow without re-flashing.
First-boot PIN setup
Each Nexus sets a unique PIN on first boot rather than shipping with a built-in default. Security fix for the first production run.
Signed firmware updates
Signature verification on each update so nothing can be installed on your Nexus except firmware we actually built.
Final-hardware firmware build
Firmware tuned for the final production Nexus board — the version that ships on day one.
Per-room CO₂ targets
Independent CO₂ targets and valve control for each room rather than a single shared budget.
Nightly diary auto-summary
Optional end-of-day email: "VPD held 0.9-1.1 all period, fans averaged 62%, hit DLI target of 35." Opt-in.
Thinking about it
Spectrum control (RGB / far-red channels)
Today we dim a single lighting output. A second output for far-red photomorphogenesis is on the table if customer demand materialises. No hardware changes needed.
Predictive "this is going to go wrong" alerts
Using a week of sensor history to forecast VPD/temp excursions 30 minutes ahead and pre-emptively adjust. Needs more field data to train against.
Grow journal with photo import
Attach weekly canopy photos to the stored plan timeline — easier year-over-year comparison.
Apple HomeKit exposure
HomeKit doesn't have a "grow room" device class; we'd map readings to Sensor categories. Wait-and-see.
Voice control (local)
Running something like Rhasspy on-device for "Hey BudMaster, what's my VPD?" Stretch goal, not near-term.
Larger commercial scale-up
The Nexus already runs up to 16 rooms with Mini / Mid / Max routers. A bigger-footprint variant for larger commercial operations is plausible if demand is there. Not before v2.

Free OTA updates for the life of the product. No forced pushes — you click update when you want to. No subscription tier unlocks. New features land in the same firmware every customer runs. If we add something in v2.0 you want, it's yours at no cost; if you don't want it, don't update.
